Summary of research interests and expertise:

Research interests relate to the prospects for small states in the international community including existential threats posed by Climate Change; reform of criteria used by international institutions for allowing access by small states to concessionary financing; restrictions in the World Trade Organisation for allowing small and vulnerable economies the status of a special category of membership to which universal rules will not apply; utilising the Commonwealth as a vehicle for advocating and advancing the interests of small states; building a small states organisation to represent their interests in global bodies including the G20.

The future of the Commonwealth as an instrument for promoting global understanding on political and economic issues, and as a beacon for the human, civil and political rights within its own membership and internationally.
