Project summary:

This three month project—funded by the AHRC's Cultural Engagement Fund pilot scheme—will build links between the School of Advanced Study, the Bloomsbury Festival, and the broader institutions and communities of Bloomsbury and beyond.

Every year the Bloomsbury Festival draws upon the places, collections, archives, and above all upon the people who live and work in the district to celebrate the extraordinary cultural and intellectual wealth of this unique area of London. Working in partnership with the 2013 festival, the Bloomsbury Festival Cultural Engagement Project will work to strengthen engagement and knowledge exchange between the School of Advanced Study's humanities research and related activities and its wider cultural and civic milieu. Developing an innovative programme of engagement activities across a range of contexts, the project will showcase the School's status as a national research hub, whilst making a lasting contribution to the cultural, social, and intellectual life of London and the UK.

Dr Michael Eades has been appointed to coordinate the School of Advanced Study's engagement with the Bloomsbury Festival over the duration of the project. Please contact Dr Eades directly for further information about the project, or for enquiries about festival programming.
